Strategy Development

Strategy decisions can reshape a landscape.  A good strategy can lead your forces to victory even against the greatest of odds.  A bad one can take a strong company and quickly make it a weaker one.  How can a manager control costs, set targets, and plan critical steps without a strategy?  Most would agree, it is impossible to manage without a strategy.   Of course there is a third option and that is a no strategy option followed by a fourth the strategy de jour. Many companies choose these last two options and at times it may seem hard to differentiate the two. 

Changing strategy frequently, say with each release of the New York Times Business Best Sellers list may be just as harmful as having no strategy at all.
